Medicare and Medicaid Rules Waived for Victims of Hurricane Katrina

Secretary of State Michael Leavitt has signed a waiver of certain rules for Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP recipients, along with their health care providers. This waiver will allow victims of Hurricane Katrina to bypass some regulations to receive faster medical treatment.
