Accessibility: Computer Tips for People with Disabilities

After finally admitting that I have an age-related vision change, I carry reading glasses wherever I go. Even with glasses, I sometimes need to change the settings on my laptop to see something more clearly. For people with disabilities of any sort, here's how to adjust your computer's settings for greater accessibility.

Never forget to remind people who have impaired vision to contact their state’s blind services program. Those are among the finest groups in each state, or the Federation for the Blind, Hadley School for the Blind (online) to seek assistance. The state programs are excellent, and also link with the Talking Books programs through the Library of Congress to provide “players” and the book catalogs to those with impaired vison, and also teach safety and independent living.
