Many of the tips would be totally unnecessary if we automated the current road/rail system. This would enable anyone able to say where they are going to use the system. Any car in the system should be able to accommodate handicapped or elderly users with little regard for how long it takes them to board and exit.

Good point, CJ. Perhaps as the population ages and more older adults demand safe public transportation, changes will be made.
