If you are currently enrolled in Medicare, you should receive a printed copy of Medicare and You: 2007 in sometime in Fall 2007, targeted to your geographic area. And you can read it online right now. Highlights of Medicare and You: 2007 include:
- A new Web tool called www.MyMedicare.gov, which will allow you to register online to see your health care claims, track preventive services you may need, and get help with your Medicare benefits. (Note: you will be asked to disable your popup blocker for best viewing results.)
If you choose not to register with MyMedicare.gov, you can get the same information by calling 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) or your local Medicare office.
- Learn what you will pay for Medicare in 2007 (pages 101-104)
- What is your Part B Premium? If you filed an individual tax return and your yearly income is above $80,000 (or $160,000 for a married couple filing a joint tax return), then your monthly Part B premium will be higher than the standard amount (page 11.)
- Need information about Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C) including HMOs and PPOs? See page 33.
- Confused about the Medicare Prescription Drug Plans (Part D)? (And who isn't?) Look on page 43.
- If you need outpatient physical and occupational therapy or speech and language pathology, you may find new limits in 2007 -- see page 103.
- There's a new way to get Medicare C -- the Medicare Medical Savings Account (MSA) Plans. Information about MSAs starts on page 39.
